Join painter Alec Zemper for two days of immersive plein air painting as we capture the rich colors and shifting light of the autumn landscape. Working on location, students will learn techniques for simplifying complex scenes, mixing harmonious seasonal palettes, and building dynamic compositions directly from observation. 

Plein air painting presents challenges, with inherently changing light and weather conditions, yet it provides artists with potential to awaken our energy, inspiration, and attention to the present moment. How we balance those inspirations and observations with our technical painting process is an ongoing journey of painting en plein air.
