This class explores the expressive and structural potential of charcoal through the timeless subject of the nude figure. Students will work from both high-quality references and the live model to develop strong observational skills and a deeper understanding of form and proportion.

Students will learn to balance line and value masses, developing drawings that are both accurate and atmospheric. Emphasis will be placed on proportion, gesture, edge control, and tonal harmony—tools essential to capturing the human figure with confidence and subtlety.
