This an introductory 2D, frame-by-frame animation class structured around the 12 principles of animation developed by early Disney artists. Once understood, these principles can be applied to all forms of animation, from traditional hand-drawn animation through 3D and stop-motion.
Using modern, digital tools students will create between 3-4 shots focusing on what makes motion beautiful, readable and interesting to look at.
From the humble bouncing ball to jumping squirrels and frogs, students will learn multiple workflows that will let them apply what they learned to more complex and creative shots.
This is a great foundation for anyone interested in trying animation for the first time or solidifying their existing skills - the class has multiple levels for those looking for a challenge!
All software and tool training will be provided. Students are welcome to use their own if they have a tablet.
