November Classes
Instructor: Isaac Dell
Beginners - Advanced
5 Week Class
Mondays 6:00pm-9:00pm
October 27th - November 24th
Class Maximum: 10 Students
Materials are included in all of our classes.
Over five weeks, students will study human anatomy in depth by creating an écorché sculpture — a figure modeled with exposed musculature to reveal the structure beneath the skin. Beginning with a skeletal armature, participants will build each major muscle group in clay, learning their form, function, and relationship to the whole figure. This structured, hands-on process deepens anatomical understanding, sharpens observational skills, and strengthens accuracy in both sculpture and drawing. No prior sculpting experience required, but a commitment to detail and careful study is necessary.
Students will be working in Oil Based Clay, which does not harden or dry. To keep class costs low, student works will be recycled at the end of class unless the student wishes to purchase the clay for themselves. We sell clay at cost by weight at the end of each sculpture class.

Join painter Mary Jane Ward for two days of immersive plein air painting as we capture the rich colors and shifting light of the autumn landscape. Working on location, students will learn techniques for simplifying complex scenes, mixing harmonious seasonal palettes, and building dynamic compositions directly from observation.
Plein air painting presents challenges, with inherently changing light and weather conditions, yet it provides artists with potential to awaken our energy, inspiration, and attention to the present moment. How we balance those inspirations and observations with our technical painting process is an ongoing journey of painting en plein air.
Students will watch demonstrations and get one on one feedback as they work alongside the instructor to practice translating their own observations of nature into the language of color, value and shapes. This workshop is designed for painters of all experience levels looking to deepen their connection to nature while developing confidence and sensitivity in outdoor painting.
